NETTLE WHOLE EXTRACT

«Nettle (Urtica dioica) leaves and roots. Main activities: anti-inflammatory; diuretic, antiuric and depurative; tonic-stimulant ; emmenagogue; antidiarrhoeal .
Therapeutic use: inflammation of the urinary tract, prostate hypertrophy (root); prevention and treatment of kidney stones, gout; adjunct in the treatment of joint pain, tonic and mineralising; seborrhoeic dermatitis.
The therapeutic indications attributed to nettle are countless and can be summarised in: tonic, anti-inflammatory and diuretic action.
The ROOT of Nettle seems to act favourably in prostatic hyperplasia, helping reduce the volume of the gland. Concomitant anti-edemigenous action can play an important role in reducing cervical prostatic obstruction, helping to improve the functional framework and urination problems caused by benign prostatic hypertrophy (phase I and II). The WHO and ESCOP recognise the use of nettle root for alleviating urination problems (excessive frequency and nocturia).… Bruneton reports that nettle root extract does not inhibit either the 5-α reductase or the fixation of dihydrotestosterone on prostate receptors, but reduces the proliferation of prostate cells in culture. Treatment with nettle root extract can be considered a safe therapeutic option for benign prostatic hypertrophy, especially to reduce irritative symptoms and associated complications. For the treatment of prostatic hypertrophy, nettle root extracts may be associated with Sabal serrulata (or Serenoa repens), Pygeum africanum and to Sequoia gigantea bud extract.
Its LEAVES, being rich in minerals (iron, calcium and silicon) and chlorophyll, are considered an excellent remineralising, tonic and anti-anaemic remedy, valid at all stages of life.… The haematopoietic action of the plant is due to the high presence of chlorophyll. It may also have a normalising effect on intestinal flora.
Rheumatic forms, hyperuricemic states, rheumatic diseases, chronic arthritis and gout are helped by therapies with extracts of nettle.…
